Adult Day Services can help prevent premature placement in residential programs. The programs at the Adult Day Care Centers make remaining at home for many adults who have health impairments a reality. Persons who participate in the therapeutic programs, offered on a daily basis, often find that they are not only able to maintain their level of functioning, but have also, in some instances, noted improvement. Day Services, while supporting and stimulating both the physical and mental functioning of participants, assist them in maintaining their maximum level of independence.

All participants in the Adult Day Services Program are assessed and monitored by our trained staff. Each participant's personal physician is contacted to obtain current medical recommendations and develop individualized care plans, tailored to help each participant maintain his or her fullest potential. A registered nurse oversees the total care of each participant while at the center thus allowing for early identification of new problems. A Social Worker can coordinate care with other agencies, as needed, and assist in problem solving, resource identification, and referrals. Caregivers and family members benefit from Adult Day Services by knowing that their loved one is well cared for during their absence. Activities are planned to meet the individual needs and interests of participants and to spark interest, facilitate social interaction, and stimulate intellectual activity.

Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy can be arranged as a part of the participant's day. Various levels of exercise are offered to meet individual capabilities. In order to receive maximum program benefits, it is recommended that participants attend at least two days a week. Many find Adult Day Services to be the "home away from home" that they truly need.
